Fiber to the Premises
|
The new FTTx/PON for Installers course specifically
addresses the needs of installers and technicians working on
FTTx and Passive Optical Network installations using the ITU-T
G.983 standard. The course consists of both classroom and hands-on
practices focusing on the knowledge and skills required for
the proper installation of optical cables; splicing for trunk,
distribution and drop cables; and the unique testing, documentation
and troubleshooting requirements including OTDR, reflection
and optical loss testing. |

Intelligent Transportation Systems

Fiber Optics for Intelligent Transportation
Systems (ITS) provides a practical understanding of how fiber
optics and fiber-optic technology are integrated into modern
traffic systems. In partnership with the International Municipal
Signal Association (IMSA), this course is offered as a two-level
certification program for those who design and install fiber-optic
traffic systems. |
