November 18, 2010 — The Light Brigade is pleased to announce that the new Certified Fiber-to-the-Home Professional (CFHP) certification program, which launched earlier this year, is now available on a custom basis to address client’s needs at their locations in North America and internationally.
This course is specifically designed to certify a professional level of technical competence in FTTH and Fiber-to-the-Building (FTTB) related technologies and applications. Certification consists of demonstrating knowledge and familiarity with FTTH architecture, network design, deployment technology and operational skills. Certification is not directed at specific vendor’s equipment, rather to certify professional competence on a broad base of FTTH topics
The CFHP content addresses active Ethernet and PON FTTH systems, physical network architecture options, video systems, Ethernet and IP networks, FTTH and FTTB designs, business and economic issues, and future migration considerations. Using The Light Brigade’s 30 years of fiber optic training expertise, the CFHP course is structured to allow easy absorption and application of the FTTH technology options available to today’s system designers.
Providing the course at a client’s site allows the content to be customized to their specific schedule and training needs while still maintaining the CFHP certification requirements. The client can select the key objectives, applications, products, and techniques that are of particular importance to their operation. The training staff at The Light Brigade can then focus the course to meet these criteria. Course length can vary and can incorporate optional FTTx for Technicians and Installers training, which includes practical hands-on exercises.
