Instructor Led Fiber Optic Training Courses
Over 35,000 people have completed a Light Brigade training course making us the leading fiber
optic training provider in the world. We have courses for all experience levels -- from the novice
with no fiber experience to the seasoned fiber optic installer or designer.
Class registration closes three weeks prior to the start of the class. Registrations after this deadline are subject to availability and will incur a late registration fee of $250. If you wish to submit a late registration, please contact one of our Training Specialists at (800) 451-7128 to see if seats are still available.

FO 1-2-3
|
Classroom and hands-on training. Gain a practical
understanding of fiber optic communication systems and learn
the latest techniques needed to design, install, test and maintain
both multimode and singlemode networks. |
|
Advanced Hands-on Modules
|
These Advanced Hands-on Modules are the next
level of training for those who require more advanced skills
and experience with major fiber optic disciplines and equipment,
including singlemode fiber technology and content applicable
for FTTx and DWDM systems. |
Fundamentals of Fiber Optics
|
This two-day accelerated course covers both multimode and singlemode fiber networks and is intended for installation contractors and end users involved in building and maintaining local area networks (LANs), municipal networks, and private networks. |
|
Fiber to the Premises
|
The new FTTx/PON for Installers course specifically
addresses the needs of installers and technicians working on
FTTx and Passive Optical Network installations using the ITU-T
G.983 standard. The course consists of both classroom and hands-on
practices focusing on the knowledge and skills required for
the proper installation of optical cables; splicing for trunk,
distribution and drop cables; and the unique testing, documentation
and troubleshooting requirements including OTDR, reflection
and optical loss testing. |
|
Power Utility
|
Fiber optic communications is becoming increasingly important in power utilities as Smart Grid technology increases the demand for bandwidth in the telemetry and control (SCADA) of the modern power network infrastructure. The Fiber Optics for Utilities four-day training course was developed to help the Utility address their training needs to increase deployment speed and reduce operation costs by improving the fiber optic technology skills of their personnel. |
|
Intelligent Transportation Systems
|
Fiber Optics for Intelligent Transportation
Systems (ITS) provides a practical understanding of how fiber
optics and fiber-optic technology are integrated into modern
traffic systems. In partnership with the International Municipal
Signal Association (IMSA), this course is offered as a two-level
certification program for those who design and install fiber-optic
traffic systems. |
|
Fiber Characterization
|
This three-day courses provide a practical understanding of the principles behind polarization mode dispersion, chromatic dispersion, and optical return loss. |
