Certification and Course Credits

When you complete a Light Brigade course, you are eligible to earn certification and course credits. Descriptions of the various certificates and credits are below.

ETA Certification

The Light Brigade offers independent certification through the Electronics Technicians Association (ETA). ETA-certified technicians are professionally recognized as having the knowledge and skills to meet international de facto electronics industry standards.

The ETA Fiber Optic Installer Certificate is available to those who complete the following Light Brigade courses.

Complete our four-day Fiber Optics 1‑2‑3 course and successfully pass the ETA certification exam. The FOI is designed for those working with both multimode and singlemode fibers.

Complete all five days of our Advanced Hands-on Modules or our four-day FTTx for Installers and Planners course and successfully pass the ETA certification exam.

These certificates are optional and are not course requirements. You need to request and pay for the test when you register for a class. The test is given during the last two hours of class.

  • Cost: There is a $150 testing fee. ETA certification is valid for four years.
