July 25, 2008 – For the second consecutive year, The Light Brigade has been named to the list of Top 100 Broadband Companies by the editors of Broadband Properties magazine. The winners were selected based on a variety of criteria including “advancing the cause of fiber to the premises, helping others to deploy networks, and introducing innovative technologies.”
The Light Brigade was honored for its contributions to the industry as a fiber optic training company. The company’s training courses cover the entire spectrum of fiber optics from basic theory, design, maintenance and testing through advanced topics such as fiber-to-the-user (FTTx), DWDM, SONET, fiber characterization, and fiber-optic video transmission. The content covers many issues relevant to today’s FTTx networks and how they will impact the technology and trends of the future.
“We are very proud to be have received this distinction for the second consecutive year,” said The Light Brigade’s founder and president, Larry Johnson. “We’ve followed FTTx and its concepts since 1989 and have been actively involved with developing educational courses, DVDs and computer-based training modules to address the industry’s needs as the technology has evolved.”
