Fiber Optics for Traffic Systems, Level I (Lecture only)
This course features two days of classroom training covering fiber optic theory, installation, splicing, testing and maintenance, system design, video transmission, real-time video, traffic control systems, next generation systems, optical multiplexing (WDM, CWDM), bidirectional transmission, and bandwidth considerations for multimode fibers.
Learn about traffic controllers and how data is transmitted and distributed from the traffic management center to the controllers, including string and self-healing ring fiber architectures. Take a look at the latest system networks, such as GbE and 10GbE, and the technologies available to support them. Serial, hybrid, and end-to-end ITS fiber networks are also reviewed.
