Fiber Optics for Traffic Systems
This course is tailored for those who design, install, and/or maintain Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for city, county, and state transportation departments. The content offers a comprehensive overview of various methods for transmitting control signals and video over fiber, including legacy FM and new digital transmission technologies for real-time video, including compressed video using IP technologies.
Learn about traffic controllers and how data is transmitted and distributed from the traffic management center to the controllers, including string and self-healing ring fiber architectures. Take a look at the latest system networks, such as GbE and 10GbE, and the technologies available to support them. Serial, hybrid, and end-to-end ITS fiber networks are also reviewed.
