There are many reasons those in the fiber optic industry pursue professional certifications.  Earning a certificate validates the person’s high-level of expertise…not to mention that a professional certification may also yield a pay bump and generally puts holders ahead of the pack.

Many of our courses have a certification option.  We work with the ETA International to provide training for their three well-recognized independent fiber optic certifications.

  • ETA International Fiber Optic Installer
  • ETA International Fiber Optic Technician – Outside Plant
  • ETA International Fiber to the Antenna – Fiber Optic Technician

The ETA International administers the certification program following rigorous standards.   They first identify the need for the certification and then establish relevant competency requirements, namely specific knowledge and skill benchmarks that must be met.  Finally, an exam and skills testing worksheet is developed with the approval from a committee of industry experts.

”Fiber Optics technical certifications have been the most highly sought ETA certification for the past ten years. Light Brigade is one of the well-regarded training partners for those fiber certifications.  Individuals seeking fiber optics training today are able to obtain excellent theory and hands-on training along with an ETA accredited certification to validate their training. Installation of fiber optics inside or outside plant, including complex test equipment usage, makes a Light Brigade trained and ETA certified technician the go-to person for answering the need for bandwidth in today’s quickly evolving technology-based world," said Teresa Maher, CSS, President of ETA International.
