Technician Level I

The Technician Level I certification course features 16 hours of classroom lecture on the physical layer: fiber optic theory, fiber types, cables, splicing, terminations, fiber management products, installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safety.
 
The course is intended for those who plan, design, install, or maintain fiber-optic networks in public safety, security, traffic, or transportation environments.

This course is a prerequisite for IMSA Fiber Optics for ITS, Traffic, Fire Alarm, and Communication Systems Field Technician Level II and Design Technician Level II.

Course Level

Introductory to intermediate. Beginners to experienced fiber technicians find the class and extensive hands on skills training beneficial.
