Fiber Optics 1-2-3 - Remote Classroom

Light Brigade now offers a virtual option that brings our Fiber Optics 1-2-3 classroom learning directly to you. Without the inconvenience and expense of travel, remote students will gain a solid understanding of fiber technology, network components and equipment. In addition to receiving valuable insights from our senior instructor, students will have access to a technologist who will be answering questions in real-time.

This instructor-led course provides a fundamental understanding of fiber optics that is perfect for those new to fiber or those looking to enhance their current knowledge base. We've taken our two days of classroom time and broken them into four half-day sessions, making it easier than ever to get the knowledge you need. Two days of hands-on skills training can be added later to develop cable preparation, termination, splicing, and testing skills and to qualify for ETA certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not a technician or don’t have a technical background? Is this course right for me?
Yes! Remote classroom is perfect for those new to fiber or those looking to enhance their current skill set — from sales representatives to engineers.

I am in the process of onboarding several new employees who are completely new to fiber. Will they be able to understand the terminology and keep up?
Yes! This is an introductory course. For total beginners, we do however recommend bundling remote classroom with our interactive Fiber Foundations e-learning course. Fiber Foundations is the ideal first step into fiber optics. The overview of basic theory, terminology, and key products was designed to provide a baseline on which to build more in-depth training.

Will this course be technical enough for my team of engineers?
Yes!  Whether your engineers are new to the industry or looking to enhance their current knowledge; our senior instructors bring just the right mix of expertise, real-world experience, and relevant course materials to keep all students engaged.

What if I change my mind? Can I couple this with a hands-on class and get ETA FOI Certified?
Yes! This course is perfect for techs who are unable to commit to four days away from the field, or looking to save on travel expenses. Take the remote classroom course now and, when it is convenient; participate in the hands-on training days  to prepare for the ETA FOI Certification.

Technical Questions

What if I have questions?

I am frequently pulled away from my desk. What happens if I get interrupted while taking the course?
No problem. Rejoin the course when you are able and feel confident knowing you’ll have access to the full recording at the end of class.
