About the Role
The Business Development/Inside Sales Associate is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, supporting account growth, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is the primary point of contact for prospective and existing customers and helps drive revenue growth, customer retention, and repeat business.
Primary Responsibilities:
Respond to inbound inquiries and conduct outbound prospecting activities.
Qualify leads and identify new business opportunities.
Build and maintain strong customer and corporate account relationships.
Manage the sales process from initial contact through enrollment, order completion, or contract execution.
Generate repeat business through proactive follow-up and account management.
Identify upselling, cross-selling, and account growth opportunities.
Provide information regarding products, services, programs, schedules, and requirements.
Prepare quotes, proposals, and customer communications.
Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and virtual consultations.
Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within CRM systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful delivery of services.
Occasional travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in inside sales, business development, account management, or a related role.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Dynamics 365, or similar platforms.
Experience conducting virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Working understanding fiber optics and training products is a plus
Working Conditions:
Primarily seated office environment
Frequent typing, computer, and telephone use
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Close vision and ability to adjust focus for extended computer work
